The Love of Another, a Great Value, is Scarce

Is not such scarcity the very nature– perhaps the definition– of value?
So, if the love of another is absent in my life, I am not cheated. I am not necessarily without attraction.
The scarcity of the love of another, as with all things of value, simply is the way of the world.

And– this is no faulty dilemma– what is best in a life:  to receive love, or to give love?
